Distillery Production Specialist
Location: Murphy's Law Distillery, Elmira Ontario
Position Type: Part-Time (30 hours per week)
Hourly Wage: $20 per hour
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Labourer to join our team at Murphy's Law Distillery. This role is ideal for someone passionate about craft spirits and eager to contribute to the production of high-quality, handcrafted beverages. As a key member of our team, you will be involved in various aspects of the distillation process, ensuring that our products meet our high standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Distillation Process:
- Operate and monitor distillation equipment, including stills and fermenters.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of mash, fermentation, and distillation processes.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure quality and consistency of the product.
- Assist in bottling activities.
- Prepare, operate and clean a bottling line.

Quality Control:
- Perform regular sampling and testing of products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Document all production processes and results accurately.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the distillery area, including equipment and workspaces.
- Assist in routine maintenance and troubleshooting of distillery equipment.

Inventory Management:
- Monitor and record inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
- Assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Adhere to best practices for handling hazardous materials and maintaining cleanliness.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a distillery or related manufacturing environment is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Skills: Basic mechanical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Must be comfortable working with potentially hazardous materials and equipment.
Working Hours:
- 30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options. Specific shifts to be determined based on production needs.

Job Summary: Murphy's Law Distillery is seeking an enthusiastic and charismatic Distillery Ambassador to represent our brand at events and tastings, both locally and out of town. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for craft spirits, with excellent communication skills and a flair for engaging with diverse audiences. This role involves travel, including attending consumer tastings at LCBO locations and participating in various promotional events.
Key Responsibilities:

Event Representation:
- Represent Murphy's Law Distillery at industry events, trade shows, and consumer tastings.
- Engage with attendees to promote our brand, products, and story in a compelling and informative manner.
- Coordinate and manage event setups, ensuring all promotional materials and products are properly displayed.

Consumer Tastings:
- Conduct tastings at LCBO locations and other retail outlets, providing educational information about our products.
- Answer customer questions and provide recommendations to enhance their experience and increase brand loyalty.

Travel and Logistics:
- Travel to various locations for events and tastings as required.
- Manage travel arrangements and logistics to ensure timely and effective participation in events.

Brand Promotion:
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, retailers, and customers.
- Assist in creating and implementing promotional strategies to boost brand visibility and sales.

Reporting and Feedback:
- Provide feedback and insights on event outcomes, consumer reactions, and market trends.
- Compile and submit event reports, including attendance, engagement, and sales data.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in event management, sales, or customer service is preferred. Experience in the spirits or beverage industry is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with a diverse audience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in marketing, hospitality, or a related field is a plus.
- Travel: Ability to travel frequently and adapt to various locations and schedules.
Working Hours:
- Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
